Abstract
One address covers every enquiry to Rust Statistics: hello@ruststatistics.org.
Corrections to a server's record
Most fields shown for a server are taken from what that server publishes: its name, description, tags, wipe schedule and header image. A change made at the server's end should appear on Rust Statistics within one refresh interval, five minutes. If a wipe has been missed, or a value stays wrong after that interval, email the server's address in ip:port form and the value you expected. You can check the record first in the server directory.
Advertising
What is available is set out on the advertising page. Email the address above with what you have in mind, and the reply will state what can and cannot be done.
Reusing the data
Figures from Rust Statistics may be used in a project. Write first, stating what you intend to use and how; we can then tell you which figures suit the purpose and how they were measured. A definition matters as much as a number: a live player count and a population history are not the same measurement.
What the address is not for
Server owners cannot pay to change a figure. Rankings and population values are produced from recorded data, not from requests. How each figure is defined is described on the about page.
Appendix AQuestions
A.1How do I get my Rust server's details corrected on Rust Statistics?
Change the detail at the server's own end first: name, description, tags, wipe schedule and header image are read from what the server publishes, and the site follows within one refresh interval of five minutes. If a value stays wrong after that, email hello@ruststatistics.org with the server address as ip:port and the value you expected. Checks are made against the recorded data rather than against the request alone.
A.2Does Rust Statistics take payment to change a server's figures or ranking?
No. Population, wipe and ranking values are produced from recorded measurements, and no payment changes them. Advertising is separate from the data and is described on the advertising page.
A.3Can I use Rust Statistics data in my own project?
Yes, with one request first. Email hello@ruststatistics.org stating what you intend to use and how. The reply will identify which figures suit the purpose and how each was measured, which is usually more useful than copying pages.
