Abstract
Rust Statistics records population, wipes and settings for every public Rust server, refreshed every five minutes. For readers who want the method as well as the number. At the latest count, 86,379 players were on 3,852 of the 11,799 public Rust servers online1. 162 servers wiped in the last three hours, and the next force wipe falls on Thursday 5 November at 19:00 UK time, in 9 days and 3 hours2. Players gather on few servers: the ten busiest hold 12% of them, and 104 servers hold half.

1Overview
This paper reports the state of every public Rust server as the server list showed it at the latest count, taken every five minutes. Table 1 gives the headline statistics; Figure 1 the players across the game over the last 48 hours. The full breakdown, with every split of the players, is in the player count [1]; the date and time of the next force wipe in the countdown [2].

2Distribution
Each server online is counted once in every split, so the groups of Tables 2 and 3 add up to the 86,370 players on 11,773 servers. Region is what a server publishes about itself3; the game mode is the first that fits, in the order Facepunch's own modes, then the community's. The largest region, Europe, holds 58.2% of all players. Survival is the commonest mode, at 79.2%.

3The busiest servers
Tables 4–12 list the five fullest servers of each kind by the players on them this minute: official, modded and PvE servers first, then every gather rate from 1.5x to beyond 10x. Each table links to its full list; the whole population is in the server list [3].

Appendix AQuestions
A.1What counts as a Rust statistic here?
A Rust statistic on this site is a value measured from the public server list, such as current player count or time since the last wipe. Each figure has its measurement defined on the page. Population is the number of players connected at the most recent refresh; it is not a prediction of future population.
A.2How often are the figures refreshed, and how current are they?
Player counts, queues and wipe times are taken from Steam's public server list and refreshed every five minutes. A server's reported wipe may take up to five minutes to appear in the data. Settings such as gather rate and group limit are taken from the server's own description and may lag behind changes.
A.3Is Rust Statistics connected to Facepunch or any server owner?
Rust Statistics is independent. It is not run by Facepunch, any server network or any hosting provider. All data is public: Steam's server list and direct queries to servers that respond.
A.4Where should a new player start?
The server directory lists every public server with its current population and wipe schedule. If you want a lower-pressure start, the servers for new players are filtered for that purpose. You can also see which servers have just wiped to join a fresh map.
